We understand that there is a bit of contradiction in a couple swearing their undying love while negotiating a contract that outlines how they will separate. Often, these conversations can be as emotionally charged for the family as it is for the couple.

For this webinar, we’ve teamed two experts with very contrasting viewpoints on this subject: Wendy Sage-Hayward, a senior consultant with The Family Business Consulting Group, and her husband, Ian Hayward, a divorce lawyer. While Wendy’s work is dedicated to family enterprise continuity, Ian’s career focuses on when things fall apart. However, they both agree that when it comes to a marital agreement, the process and procedures are just as important as the contract itself.

The goals of this presentation are to strengthen your understanding of family law agreements and better equip families with how to talk about and implement family law agreements within their family enterprise. Wendy and Ian will answer:

  • What is a family law agreement and why would we need one?
  • Where do families and couples start in creating the agreement?
  • How do I discuss this with my partner?
  • How are family law agreements different from standard contracts?
  • What makes a solid family law agreement?
  • What are the important elements of the process?

Please note: the information in this webinar is intended for general information purposes only and not intended to convey or constitute legal advice. Please contact your own legal advisor to learn more about family law agreements.

This free, one-hour program includes time for Q&A. Can't attend live? A recording of the webinar will be available for all registrants.
